The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) will announce the final Maharashtra- Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) results on Wednesday, June 1.
While students are aware of their individual scores after their OMR sheets were made public last week, the results will give a clear idea on how many students will be eligible for medical and engineering seats in the state.
On May 24, the DMER had released the optical mark reader (OMR) sheets of 3.97 lakh candidates who had appeared for the MH-Common Entrance Test on May 5.
Based on the question paper and answer key of the examination, students can easily find out their final scores and 17-year-old Rishab Rawat from Mumbai has topped the medical stream with a perfect 200.
This year, a sudden U-turn by the Supreme Court on the compulsion on medical and dental aspirants appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) instead of state-based Common Entrance Tests had left many students worried.
Since MH-CET follows the state board syllabus and NEET follows CBSE, students were worried that they’ll have to go through the entire CBSE syllabus in two months to be able to appear for NEET in July.
However, an ordinance approved and signed by President Pranab Mukherjee last week stated that only this year, students aiming for government-run MBBS and BDS institutes can use the MH-CET scores, while NEET will be the only marks to be considered for admissions to private and deemed universities.
Next year onwards, NEET will be the only entrance examination considered for admissions to all medical and dental institutes across the country.
At Date 1st June 2016 you can check the MH-CET Result.
